Creator of KoalaTracker, Alex Harris, will be speaking at the 2012 Spatial@Gov conference in Canberra, November 20-22.
Sponsored by the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism, Office of Spatial Policy, the conference theme is 'people, policy and place', investigating the use of spatial, or geographic information systems (GIS) data in government. Joining an esteemed line-up of speakers, Alex will be presenting KoalaTracker as a case study on Crowdsourcing for Public Policy.

KoalaTracker is Australia's national crowdsourced koala mapping project, asking members of the public to report the location of koalas, points of impact and causes of death and injury for the public record. Launched in February 2010, it has proved community engagement to be the missing link in koala conservation to-date.
